INTEGRATION OF TRUST INDEX AND SAFETY CULTURE IN OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY ASSURANCE

Abstract

The study develops a conceptual model for integrating the organizational Trust Index and Safety Culture into the process of ensuring occupational safety at enterprises, and provides a quantitative and qualitative assessment of its impact on reducing occupational injuries. A Mixed Methods approach was applied in the research. Descriptive indicators of organizational trust, the Bradley Curve concept, Cronbach's alpha (α = 0.89), as well as Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and regression analysis methods were utilized. A strong directly proportional correlation was established between the Trust Index and Safety Culture (r = 0.74, p < 0.001). It was revealed that a high level of trust in management increases the indicator of open and non-punitive reporting of risks by 68%. Statistical calculations proved that the implementation of the integrated model reduces the number of micro-injuries and accidents by an average of 41.2%. It is substantiated that the developed "trust-safety" matrix and integration model are of key importance for revising occupational safety strategies in corporate governance and implementing proactive safety indicators (Leading Indicators) into practice.
