INVESTIGATION OF MOLYBDENUM AND OTHER VALUABLE COMPONENTS RECOVERY FROM MAGNETIC SEPARATION TAILINGS
Abstract
This article investigates the recovery of molybdenum and other valuable components from magnetic separation tailings. A two-stage soda leaching process was applied to the non-magnetic fraction obtained after magnetic separation, followed by washing of the resulting cake. The effects of sodium carbonate concentration, solid-to-liquid ratio, temperature, and leaching duration on the process efficiency were studied. Based on laboratory and pilot-scale tests, the degree of molybdenum transfer into solution and the concentrations of molybdenum and rhenium in the pregnant solutions were determined. The accumulation of copper, gold, and silver in the residual cake was also observed. The results demonstrate that two-stage soda leaching followed by cake washing provides an effective approach for molybdenum recovery while simultaneously concentrating other valuable components in the solid residue for further processing. Keywords
