FACTORS AFFECTING THE OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY OF HYDROELECTRIC TURBINES AND COUNTERMEASURES
Abstract
Abstract. An analysis was conducted on the global increase in demand for electrical energy and the prospects for electricity generation, particularly in the field of hydropower. The use of micro-hydropower plants (micro-HPPs) and the factors affecting the efficient operation of Banki turbines used in them, including hydraulic, structural, operational, and natural factors, were discussed. Practical and theoretical methods for controlling these factors, which help extend the turbine's lifespan and improve energy production efficiency, were highlighted. The implementation of efficiency monitoring systems, reducing environmental impact, and methods for developing the optimal design of Banki turbines were also presented. The importance of a systematic approach and regular maintenance for the efficient operation of Banki turbines was emphasized. Keywords
